We have two rescue dogs. Safe to say they have experienced some dark times and came to us with significant trauma. If I’m honest, I was not holding out much hope for what they would manage with a dog trainer. Then we all met Becky!
Becky was so in tune with our dogs needs from the start. I couldn’t believe how they responded and acted with her.Her training is dog centred, they are the focus. As the owners we are here to learn/understand why and what is needed to help them have a better quality of life.
I have some mental health issues. Not a problem. Becky made us all feel comfortable. Such simple things have helped us. The instructions are very clear and we get a report on each session and goals.
Every day we see new wins with our two. I could not recommend this training/trainer more highly.

We met Becky when our very reactive boy, Charlie was about a year old. Life was a constant struggle, Charlie was just too overwhelmed by the world and we were at the end of our tethers. We had tried other trainers and behaviourists, and completed several courses.
Becky’s practical approach, obvious knowledge of the doggy brain, empathy and compassion was like fresh air and we breathed an immediate sigh of relief.
We have help and medication from a vet behaviourist which has enabled Charlie to listen and learn but our sessions with Becky have become our lifeline. She comes with us into real life situations such as the beach and does coaching walks with us from home so that she can tell us what’s going on with Charlie in real time and how to manage him and the environment. This is priceless because we can replicate it and practice on our own.
Becky’s sessions are full of kindness and humour, with Charlie’s wellbeing (and ours) at the forefront always. Charlie absolutely adores her and so do we.
18 months on, we are getting some real wins and feel that we’re turning a corner. There’s a way to go go but with Becky’s help we know that Charlie will one day be living his best life.
In May I attended Becky’s seminar on dog reactivity which was fab. I learned a lot and met some lovely people who also had doggy struggles. Life with a reactive dog can be very isolating so that was great.

We have been Border Collie owners for decades but our new boy was proving to be a challenge, we tried what we thought we knew but that wasn’t working and I suddenly remembered Becky and to my delight found that she did dog training and when I emailed her she immediately knew what the problem was and the relief to know that we had help was amazing, no more sleepless nights. Becky clearly is going to save our boy and our lives with her guidance about the correct way of removing his desire to chase vehicles and some of the other habits he has picked up since we bought him home.
We have now been with her for five sessions, starting with the basic skills for a puppy. Although the first few sessions we couldn’t attend with her due to lockdown she talked us through and sent us notes and a video each week after the session that really helped us remember what to do. I think the dogs may learn and hold the information more readily than I do.
Our boy loves attending and my confidence is growing each week. A superb teacher and very patient with the owners.
I would recommend her to anyone whose dog has undesirable issues or who just want to have a well behaved dog.

‘Twm, our 8 month labrador is so full of energy and bouncing around, it was hard controlling him. I enrolled him in a four week puppyhood course at Blaenplwyf and the progress he has made is amazing. ‘We had a really positive experience with Blaenplwyf Dog training. Becky visited our home to work with our very nervous rehomed golden retriever and our eight month old puppy. ‘I took our one year old Fergus for a Puppy Training Course. Of course we think we can make our dogs sit, stay, and understand the word no. What else do I need ??? ….well quite a lot….not only did Becky enable me to train Fergus to perform some really important behavioural functions she got me to understand how to be a better owner.

At home we can so easily think we are training our Dogs buy shouting commands, but it is so easy to do more harm than good. Becky makes the pyschology of Dogs clear, so that I am a better owner, and my Dog is a happier Dog.

Becky does this with patience, clarity, and a genuine love of animals. I really enjoyed my time learning how to be a better owner, and teach Fergus some good behaviour.

‘I first met Becky and Jake last year when I put my year old boxer in kennels for the weekend. As a young boxer Piper is full of energy, totall nuts and full of fun and she loved every minute of it. She had other dogs to socialise with and lots of space to run around. Becky informed me she was training to be a dog trainer to which I quickly suggested Piper could be a test run for her. It was the best decision ever. Becky has transformed Piper, I used to have to take her out on a harness due to her excessive pulling. Since her training she now walks on a loose lead and collar. A trip to the beach used to involve Piper running off, Becky has shown us how to focus on a ball as a reward for her and she now stays with us. It is now an enjoyable experience for all of us. The owners Becky and Jake have such a good way with dogs and even Poppy who is very selective with who she likes absolutely loved them both.
For the first time ever we had absolutely no worries about our doggies whilst we were away on holiday, in fact from the photos posted on a daily basis it looked like they were having just as nice a time as we were…..if not more so!!
We live in Kent, England so it meant 2 round trips of 550 miles each time to drop our doggies off and collect them again. Was it worth that hassle and diesel costs? DEFINITELY and we will be taking them there again soon to be looked after and spoilt rotten whilst we are moving house!

‘A cannot recommend these kennels more. I’d give it 6* if I could!!! The kennels themselves are purpose built and spotless. Even offering underfloor heating in the winter months. Becky herself is amazing. She has such a lovely way with dogs and my dog for one fell in love with her at first sight. It was jump out of the car and into her arms without so much as a backward glance! They get well exercised throughout the day in THE most beautiful surroundings and every dog (not just mine) has such a happy face on them. Finding these kennels has been a god send, as although I am not one of these dog owners who thinks their dog is one of their babies – I do believe they are a family addition and deserve the best possible care. ‘Over many years we have used a dozen or more different kennels but none of them has quite matched the service provided by Blaenplwyf. Putting dogs in kennels is usually a far from ideal solution to an otherwise impossible problem. Not so at Blaenplwyf. In fact if the dogs had a choice they might well prefer to stay with Rebekah rather than go home with me, this is due to the time and effort put in to tailoring the experience to the individual dog’s needs and likes.
My only advice to anyone considering using these kennels is to book early, spaces will be in big demand.’- Adrian Davies

What can we say, Jake and Becky were just absolutely fabulous, from the moment Max our beagle arrived, myself and Dan cannot fault them. They greeted Max by name even though they had never met him before and they have such a way with dogs that makes them feel at ease immediately!
The love and attention the dogs get really is second to none, the twice a day photo updates are a true testament to how well looked after all the dogs are. What can I say that hasnt already been said… Becky and Jake have been amazing with both Buddy and Roxy over the last couple of days…. we dropped them off for a short break to ensure that they settled in quickly so that should the need for longer boarding be required in the future we would feel happy about leaving them… well they certainly settled in quickly, they were spoilt rotten with lots of cuddles, kisses and tummy rubs…

‘What an absolute fantastic place. Dingo was a rescue dog that we had never left before with anybody in 7years. He has lots of trust issues and doesn’t have the opportunity to socialise with other dogs often. WOW seeing him in the daily pictures loving the outside space along with numerous other dogs was so reassuring he has thoroughly enjoyed his week. We have just picked up our two dogs from their 1st holiday. It was lovely to see pictures of them enjoying their walks everyday and playing with the other dogs. The kennels are walm and clean and Becky and Jake are so welcoming and friendly. It is such a relief to know the dogs can go on holidays somewhere so nice and be looked after so well. Mason has never been so well looked after in kennels before. He has had a fantastic time meeting new friends and given the opportunity to socialise.
I can’t praise them enough. I was so apprehensive but my fears were soon an after thought receiving daily pictures and updates and seeing how happy he was.
I think he’s actually missing everyone there.
He will be returning soon,and I will not worry one bit.

‘Well well well, what a fantastic holiday home for you loved ones.
We picked up our Bonnie on Wednesday after a weeks holiday, she was so pleased to see us. But we could see that she had had a wonderful time, the Facebook images showed that.
Becky helped us out, for which we are so grateful, we could not have managed our grandson and a dog whilst away, and Becky came to our rescue.
A week away and now I’m being nudged for more walks, so spoilt she’s been.

‘Thank you so much for having Eddy to stay. It’s the first time we’ve been away and able to enjoy ourselves, without worrying about our problem dog. Seeing his happy face on lovely walks on Facebook, meant we could relax. When we picked him up, we were relieved to hear they’d be happy to have him again. Nothing seems too much trouble and they were quick to find solutions to any problems. It is evident from how the dogs react to Becky and Jake that they have a bond with the animals in their care. Eddy is a challenging dog and I can’t praise them enough. The other thing we noticed when we got home is that his skin condition has improved in the three days that he’s been with Becky and Jake. ‘we have just collected toby, mutley & cheeko from Becky & Jake. we had never put them in kennals before as they had all been stressed previously due to being in rescue kennals. well we had absolutely no need to worry, as this is a dog hotel not a kennal – fantastic all round. we now have 3 sulking dogs because they have come home and wanted to stay. .. lol

‘A cannot recommend these kennels more. I’d give it 6* if I could!!! The kennels themselves are purpose built and spotless. Even offering underfloor heating in the winter months. Becky herself is amazing. She has such a lovely way with dogs and my dog for one fell in love with her at first sight. It was jump out of the car and into her arms without so much as a backward glance! They get well exercised throughout the day in THE most beautiful surroundings and every dog (not just mine) has such a happy face on them. Finding these kennels has been a god send, as although I am not one of these dog owners who thinks their dog is one of their babies – I do believe they are a family addition and deserve the best possible care. I know that Becky offers this to him and I can drive away safe in the knowledge that Hatch is being well looked after and loved. A million gold stars ‘-

‘Over many years we have used a dozen or more different kennels but none of them has quite matched the service provided by Blaenplwyf. Putting dogs in kennels is usually a far from ideal solution to an otherwise impossible problem. Not so at Blaenplwyf. In fact if the dogs had a choice they might well prefer to stay with Rebekah rather than go home with me, this is due to the time and effort put in to tailoring the experience to the individual dog’s needs and likes.
My only advice to anyone considering using these kennels is to book early, spaces will be in big demand.’

‘Having got a puppy in April that is a live wire I had to juggle life and making sure Poppy is safe and happy. I’m a born worrier however after finding this gem of a ‘home from home’ I haven’t worried once. The updates on Facebook with pics and videos is that special touch that goes above and beyond what is asked of a kennels. Poppy who is 4 months goes in happily and I can get on with my day without wondering if she’s ok.
They have also gone way above what has been asked of them by introducing Poppy to their farm animals which they have done without me asking to ensure Poppy has the opportunity to socialise with as many animals as possible. They have also offered advice freely but most importantly they care for my dog as well as I would and have always got a smile on their face.

My dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Blaenplwyf Kennels. I’ve never been sure about leaving my dogs in Kennels before, but seeing how much my two girls enjoyed their stay here, we would definitely recommend and be using Blaenplwyf again.
We got daily updates on how the girls were getting on as well as photos which was great! They got superb one on one attention and even got to spend some time socialising with the other dogs there. They weren’t stuck in a kennel all day as they had roaming time on the yard to explore all the new smells, and got exercised three times a day!
I really cannot recommend Blaenplwyf Kennels enough, as much as we would love to take our dogs with us everywhere, sometimes circumstances won’t allow, at least now I know where to take them for a first class experience! A little doggy holiday of their own!’
